Biography

2012: Slattery continued to prove to be one of the best nine hole hitters in all of NCAA Division II softball as a junior in 2012, seeing time in 51 games with 47 starts. She hit .283 with five doubles, one triple and two homeruns with 24 RBI to go along with a .398 slugging percentage. Slattery made national history on March 10 as she connected on her NCAA Division II Career record fifth grand slam in a 13-5 rout of Midwestern State at Lady Buff Yard in Canyon. For her efforts in the classroom, Slattery was named a member of the LSC Commissioner’s Honor Roll.

2011: Slattery had her best statistical season yet as a Lady Buffs in 2011 as a sophomore, seeing time in all 68 games with 66 starts in left field for WT. She hit an amazing .319 with five double, one triple and 14 homeruns for 51 RBI and an impressive .625 slugging percentage. Her 14 homeruns was tied with teammate Kim LeComte for most on the team. Slattery was named a member of the Lone Star Conference All-Tournament Team for her efforts as WT won their first ever LSC Title. The sophomore also excelled in the classroom, being named a member of the All-LSC Academic Team as well as the LSC Commissioner’s Honor Roll.

2010: Slattery became a staple in the Lady Buffs’ outfield as a true freshman in 2010, seeing time in 61 games with 54 starts. She finished the season with a .250 batting average with three doubles, seven homeruns and 39 RBI for a slugging percentage of .464. In the field, she registered a .944 fielding percentage with 49 putouts and two assists. Slattery also impressed in the classroom, being honored as a NFCA All-American Scholar Athlete.

High School: Slattery graduated from Memorial HS (Texas) and played left field, shortstop, second base and pitched for the Mustangs under head coach Tina Young. Slattery was a four time All-District 18-5A selection as well as the district’s MVP in 2006 and the Utility Player of the Year in 2007. She also excelled in the classroom, being named an Academic All-District selection as a senior in 2009.

Major: Slattery is a Psychology major at West Texas A&M with a minor in Spanish.

Personal: Slattery is the daughter of Sean Renee Slattery and she has three siblings: Kathleen, Courtney and Kelsey.
