Biography


2010: Henderson continued to be the Lady Buffs everyday right fielder as a junior, seeing time and starting in all 63 games during WT’s historic run to the South Central Regional Finals in 2010. She finished the season with a .437 batting average with eight doubles, five triples and 40 RBI for a .524 slugging percentage. In the outfield, she registered a .976 fielding percentage with 36 putouts and five assists. Henderson led the team in numerous categories including batting average (.437), on-base percentage (.504), hits (90), triples (5) and stolen bases (27). Her 90 hits was just three shy of the Lone Star Conference single season record held by Alexis Wing on Angelo State in 2003. Her best offensive game came against Tarleton State at home on April 9, going 3-for-3 at the plate with four RBI including two triples while also scoring three runs in a 10-4 win. Henderson was honored with a spot on the All-Lone Star Conference First Team as well as the Louisville Slugger/NFCA All-South Central Region Second Team for her efforts on the diamond.

2009:
Henderson started in all 55 games during her sophomore season and topped the Lady Buff season leader board in hits (71), batting average (.410), runs scored (58) and stolen bases (22). She emerged as the Lady Buffs biggest base-stealing threat, stealing 22 bases on 24 attempts. Henderson tallied five doubles, two triples and 37 RBIs in 173 at-bats. As the every day right fielder for the Lady Buffs, Henderson boasted a .925 fielding percentage along with a total of 45 putouts. At the plate, Henderson went 4-for-5 on March 7, scoring two runs with a pair of RBIs as WT dropped Texas Woman’s. She drove in a season high four runs on April 9 against Incarnate Word. At season’s end, Henderson was named to the 2009 Louisville Slugger/NFCA Division II All-America first team as well as the Daktronics All-South Central Region first team. She also earned All-LSC South Division first team honors as well as LSC Newcomer of the Year.

Previous School:
Henderson attended Chipola College (Flordia) where she played center field.

High School:
Henderson attended Katy HS (Texas) where she played center field and was First Team All-Conference selection in 2008. She was First Team All-State in 2007, while leading her team to the state semifinals. Henderson was named First Team All-Greater Houston by the Houston Chronicle in both 2006 and 2007. She was a Katy Courier First Team All-Greater Katy in 2006, as well as a First Team All-District selection in 2005, 2006 and 2007.

Personal:
Henderson is the daughter of Sam and Pat Henderson. She has two siblings, Christin and Jennifer. Henderson is majoring in General Studies at West Texas A&M.
