2017: Led th team in scoring in his first season at WT...Tallied nine goals with four assists for 22 points...Had 64 shots (.141) with 31 on frame (.484) and one game winner, while recording 1,264 minutes on the pitch...His nine goals tied for the team-lead...Recorded a hat trick at UT Permian Basin (9/30) on five shots...Scored two goals at Dallas Baptist (10/14)...Had the game winner in the season-opener at Colorado Christian (9/1) and one assist...Named D2CCA Second Team All-Region and earned Heartland Conference Second Team honors...Named PDL Player of the Week (5/25/18) for the Texas United of the Premier Development League.

University of Memphis: Made 31 appearances including 13 starts as a forward during his two years as a Tiger. He scored three career goals and an assist during his 1,173 minutes on the pitch.During his freshman campaign, Vargas finished second on the team on shots (24) and shots on goal (13). He excelled academically earning Memphis Tiger 3.0 Club 2015 honors.

High School: Played as a forward for J.J. Pearce High School for one season as a freshman on a team that went 22-3. Earned second team All-District honors that season.  Also played for Solar Chelsea and Andromeda club teams. Invited to three U.S. Soccer training centers, including one U.S. Nike Combine. Member of Andromeda 97 White team that made it to the Dallas Cup semifinals.  Was the leading scorer with 10 goals in final season with Solar Chelsea team that went 13-7-7 in 2014-15.

Personal: Born on March 14, 1997. Son of Julio Vargas and Maria Luna. Has two siblings.
