Biography

2013: To say that Jessica Sipe made an immediate impact on the Lady Buffs during her first season in Canyon would be an understatement. The Phoenix native hit .353 with 10 doubles, six triples, 13 homeruns and a team leading 66 RBI from the cleanup spot to register a slugging percentage of .685 while also playing the hot-corner with a fielding percentage of .937 with 64 putouts and 143 assists. Sipe was named to the All-Lone Star Conference 2nd Team for her efforts on the diamond while also earning LSC All-Tournament Team accolades. Sipe also excelled in the classroom, being named a member of the LSC Commissioner’s Honor Roll.

Previous School: Sipe came to West Texas A&M after a two year standout junior college career at Pima JC (Arizona) where she played third base for the Aztecs under head coach Armando Quiroz. Sipe helped lead the Aztecs to a fourth place finish at the NJCAA Division I World Series with an overall record of 56-15. She received Honorable Mention All-Region honors for her efforts as well as a 2nd Team All-Conference selection.

High School: Sipe graduated from Mountain View HS (Arizona) in 2010, playing shortstop and third base for the Mountain Lions under the guidance of head coach Frank Drake.

Major: Sipe is majoring in Psychology at West Texas A&M with a minor is Sports & Exercise Science.

Personal: Sipe is the daughter of Walter Sipe and Rebecca Hartman and she has three siblings: Joshua, Amanda and Jacob.
