2014: Newcomb was a force in the circle for the Lady Buffs as a sophomore in 2014 as WT claimed the program’s first ever NCAA National Championship with a 60-7 overall record. The Frisco native went 20-4 with a 2.69 ERA including 17 complete games in 33 appearances with 25 starts to go along with three saves to lead the team. Newcomb registered 143.0 innings of work in the circle, allowing 154 hits and 72 runs with 95 strikeout for an opponent battingaverage of .266. She was a key reason for WT’s success, going 2-1 in the postseason with a 4.44 ERA including a complete game shutout to win the South Central Super Regional Championship over St. Mary’s at Schaeffer Park in Canyon. Newcomb was honored for her efforts on the diamond as a member of the National Fastpitch Coaches Association All-South Central Region team as well as being named a 1^st Team All-Lone Star Conference selection.

2013: Newcomb registered a strong true freshman season for the Lady Buffs in 2013, serving as the ace of the WT pitching staff. She saw time in 36 games with 33 starts, going 17-8 with a 3.12 ERA and 12 complete games including five shutouts and two saves. The freshman right hander struck out a team leading 74 batters in 168.1 innings of work while giving up an opponent batting average of .298.

High School: Newcomb joins the Lady Buffs after an impressive prep career at Wakeland HS (Texas) where she pitched for the Wolverines under the guidance of head coach Chris Southard. She was named the District 9-4A Most Valuable Player as a junior and senior and was selected All-State and All-DFW Area as a senior for her efforts in the circle. Newcomb also excelled in the classroom, being named a member of the National Honor Society.

Major: Newcomb is undecided on a major at West Texas A&M.

Personal: Newcomb is the daughter of David and Dawn Newcomb and she has one sister, Mariah.
