Kaisha Dacosin makes the transition from the field to the dugout in 2015 as she joins the WT coaching staff as a Student Assistant following a great two-year career for the Lady Buffs.
Dacosin recently completed a great two-year playing career for the Lady Buffs as the Kanoehe, Hawaii native placed herself into the WT Softball record books in numerous categories. She came to Canyon in the Fall of 2014 as a walk-on with Eastern Arizona Junior College teammate Rita Hokianga and took over a starting role in left field as a junior before moving to the infield at the hot corner in 2015. Dacosin became one of the winningest transfers in program history as the Lady Buffs claimed back-to-back Lone Star Conference Championships along with the 2014 NCAA Division II National Championship as she registered an overall record of 105-18 at WT including a 65-9 mark at Schaeffer Park during her career.
She hit an incredible .363 during her two seasons in Canyon with 31 doubles, three triples and 30 homeruns in 336 plate appearances to drive in 146 RBI for a slugging percentage of .741 while also registering 87 career walks and 122 total hits. As a senior in 2015, Dacosin was snubbed for All-American recognition as she led all of Division II Softball with 72 RBI while ranking second in RBI per game (1.29), seventh in walks per game (0.86), eighth in runs per game (1.18) and 12th in homeruns with 17. She was named NFCA All-South Central Region as a junior while picking up 1st Team All-Lone Star Conference recognition as a senior, she was selected the LSC Tournament Most Valuable Player on May 2nd as the Lady Buffs won the league’s regular season and tournament titles in 2015.
