High School: Gerdes joins the Lady Buffs following a standout four year prep career at Giddings HS (Texas) where she played in the outfield and pitched for the Buffaloes under head coach Celeste Arriaga. Gerdes was a 1^st Team All-District 25-3A selection during her senior campaign where she served as the team captain while also picking up Team MVP honors. The Buffaloes registered three appearances in the Texas High School playoffs during her prep career including qualifying for Regionals in 2010. Gerdes also excelled in the classroom, being named a member of the BETA Honor Society and the Distinguished Honor Roll while gradating in the Top 25% of her class at GHS.

Major: Gerdes is undecided on a major at West Texas A&M.

Personal: Gerdes is the daughter of Lee and Gail Gerdes and she has one brother, Garrett.
