2020 Outdoor: Canceled due to COVID-19 pandemic.
2020 Indoor: Competed in four meets for the Buffs. Ran a seasonal best time of 53.11 in the 400-meters at the Texas Tech Shootout. Ran a seasonal best time of 23.47 at the New Mexico Collegiate Classic. Ran 7.39 in the 60-meter dash at The Power 5 and 1:19.03 over 600-yards t the Corky Classic.
Caprock High School: Cruz-Riley competed in the short hurdles for the Longhorns. Also lettered in football.
Personal: Born on October 17, 1997. Son of Melissa Cruz. Has three siblings. Majoring in sports and exercise science.
