Wheatly is no stranger to West Texas A&M as he served last season as a student manager for the Lady Buffs. He is a 6'4 power-guard and a 2016 graduate of nearby Hedley High School where he averaged 22.6 points and 11.4 rebounds per game while shooting 80 percent from the free throw line as a senior for the Owls.
