Danny Oughton enters his third year as the assistant men’s soccer coach after joining the Buff’s program in August 2021 following a four-season run at Our Lady of the Lake with the men’s and women’s programs.
The San Antonio native helped the women’s team to back-to-back Red River Athletic Conference tournament appearances, including the Saints championship victory in 2019. In 2020, the Saints were named the regular-season champions after posting an undefeated 11-0 season.
Prior to his time with the Saints, he served as the interim head coach at Concordia (TX) where he led the Division III program to its first winning season in 2011. Oughton has worked with several club organizations including his most recent position with the San Antonio United/Sting Soccer Club as the Senior Program Director.
He graduated from Texas Lutheran in 2010 with a Bachelor’s degree in marketing and received all-conference accolades.
Oughton holds a few coaching licenses – United States Soccer Federation (USSF) National “D” License, USSF National "C" License, USSF National Youth License and NSCAA National Diploma.
