Callum Challinor makes the transition from the field to the sideline for the 2019 season as the former Buff is now WT’s Graduate Assistant Coach.
Challinor played 40 games for the Buffs with 37 starts. He totaled 20 goals with seven assists for 47 points in his career at WT.
In his senior season, Challinor helped the Buffs to their third NCAA Division II South Central Regional Title and first Heartland Confernce Title. He was also a part of the record breaking season with WT registering 17 wins in the season. Challinor was named First Team All-Heartland Conference, Second Team United Soccer Coaches All-South Central Region and Second Team Division II Conference Commisioner’s Association (D2CCA) All-South Central Region.
Challinor had an outstanding first season at WT in 2017, playing 17 games with 15 starts. He tied the team-lead in goals with nine, while recording two assists for 20 points. He registered 43 shots (.209) with 20 on frame (.465), and totaled four game winners for a team high. Challinor was named Second Team All-Heartland Conference and Second Team Division II Conference Commisioner’s Association.
Before his time at WT, Challinor played two years at Santa Barbara City College for head coach John Sisterson… He played 26 games in his career with eight starts, scoring five goals with two assists to earn All-WSC honors...
Challinor graduated from Gateshead High School (California) in 2014. He played for the Hartlepool FC, Durham County Cap U18 and were the Northern Counties U18 winners for two years as well as U19 Conference Alliance League winners. Challinor represented the Gateshead FC and FA Youth Cup.
