2017 Outdoor: Earned 3^rd Team All-Lone Star Conference honors after finishing third in the 1,500-meters in a personal best time of 3:55.93. He also finished fourth in the 3,000-meter steeplechase (9:44.06) and 10^th in the 5,000-meters (15:38.88). Ran the fifth-fastest 5,000m in school history at the Bryan Clay Invite finishing in 14:46.28. Ran a personal best time over 10,000-meters at the San Francisco Distance Carnival where he finished 59^th in 31:42.42. Won the 1,500m at the WT Classic & Multi in an altitude adjusted time of 3:57.81.

2017 Indoor: Redshirt.

2016 Cross Country: Finished his cross country career as the Buffs third runner at the NCAA Division II Cross Country finishing 127^th covering the 10,000-meter course in 32:43.6. Finished 39^th at the South Central Region Championships where he covered the 10k course at Washington Park in 33:05. Earned All-Conference honors for the second consecutive year finishing fifth in a time of 25:26.9 at the Lone Star Cross Country Championships. Finished 32^nd at the FHSU Open in a time of 25:07.1. Finished 29^th at the OSU Cowboy Jamboree covering the 8,000-meter course in 27:01.6. Covered the 5,000-meter course at the Border Classic in 16:18.8 to finish 14^th.

2016 Outdoor: Redshirt.

2016 Indoor: Finished in the top six in three different events at the LSC Indoor Championships with his highest finish coming in the 5,000 meters where he finished fourth. He also placed sixth in both the mile and 3,000 meters. Earlier in the season, he ran the fourth-fastest 5,000 meters in school history at the Pittsburg State Invitational with a time of 14:41.58. He is one of three runners to have broken 15 minutes in school history. His 8:33.57 in the 3,000 meters at the Indoor Gorilla Classic is the seventh-fastest of all-time.

2015 Cross Country: Finished 105^th at the NCAA Division II Cross Country Championships in Joplin, Mo. covering the 10,000 meter course in a time of 31:30.2. Placed 30^th at the NCAA South Central Regional Championships (10K) in a seasonal-best time of 31:28.0. Earned All-Conference honors after placing seventh at the Lone Star Conference Championships (8k) in a time of 26:01.2. Ran a personal-best time of 25:10.5 on the 8,000 meter course at the Chile Pepper Festival. Finished sixth at the Buffalo Stampede (8k) in a time of 26:20.1.

Iowa Central: Wieland was a two-time All-American while competing for Iowa Central Community College. He placed ninth in the 3,000m steeplechase at the 2015 NJCC Outdoor Track and Field Championships.  Also he placed ninth (5,000m) and 12^th (3,000m) at the 2015 indoor track and field championships. Was part of Triton’s first ever NJCAA national championship cross country team in 2014. Ran personal best times of 31:41.46 (10,000m), 15:20.62 (5,000m), 9:42.61 (3,000m steeplechase) and 4:26.19 (mile).

High School: Graduated from Johnston Senior High School in 2013. Placed 10^th at the Iowa State Cross Country Championships his senior year. Wieland holds the school records in the 5,000m, 3,200m and 1600m.

Personal: Born on July 5, 1994. Son of Jeffrey Wieland and Michelle Laughridge. Has five siblings: Taylor, Jessie, Elizibeth, Jacob and Matthew. Majoring in mechanical engineering and computer science at West Texas A&M.
