2013-14: As a junior, Gatewood played in all 27 games for the Buffs and made 10 appearances in the starting lineup averaging 20.1 minutes per game. He shot 37 percent from the field (60/163), 56 percent from the free-throw line (27/48), and a team-high 40 percent from long range (31/76). His averages during the 2013-14 season included 6.6 (points), 2.0 (assists), and 1.6 (rebounds).

Previous School: Gatewood  spent the 2012-13 season at USU-College of Eastern Utah where he averaged 13.2 points per game while shooting 31 percent from behind the arc for the Golden Eagles. For his efforts on the court, Gatwood picked up 2nd Team All-Scenic West Athletic Conference (SWAC) accolades. Gatwood spent his freshman season at Missouri State-West Plains where he averaged over eight points a game for the Grizzlies.

High School: Gatewood registered a standout prep career at Westview High School in Portland, Oregon where he helped the Wildcats to back-to-back runner-up finishes in the Oregon Class 6A playoffs in 2010 and 2011. Gatewood averaged 16 points, five assists and three rebounds per game during his senior season, picking up 1st Team All-Metro and 2nd Team All-State honors.
