Biography

GENERAL – This Georgia junior college product gives the Buffs prolific scoring potential at either a guard a small forward slot.
 
2009-10 – Mincey, who has missed the Oklahoma Panhandle State, the Central Oklahoma and the majority of the Northeastern State contests due to an ankle sprain, proved be the Buffs’ most prolific offensive performer, as he ranked among LSC scoring leaders (20th) as well as standing 10th among LSC free throw percentage leaders. He had a pair of 30-point outings this season, having hit a career-high 33 points (including hitting 17-of-20 free throws) against East Central and scoring 30 points (hitting 10-of-16 from the field and 10-of-12 from the line) against Angelo State. He recorded his first career double-double when he notched 14 points and 10 rebounds at OPSU. He showed his potential during his initial outing as a Buff, scoring 23 points (including his hitting 11-of-13 free throws) and grabbing seven rebounds in 40 minutes at New Mexico Highlands. Mincey backed that up with a 17-point, two-assist game against Arkansas Tech. He then popped the nets for a team-high 19 points against Missouri-St. Louis and 18 points against Tarleton State. The Burnswick, Ga., native recorded his third 20-point outing of the season with a 20-point, three-assist, two-steal night against TAMU-Commerce.
 
JUNIOR COLLEGE – Mincey joined the WT Basketball program from the College of Coastal Georgia. While at the Brunswick, Ga., institution, he averaged 14 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists to earn team MVP honors.
 
HIGH SCHOOL – An all-Region and second team all-State selection while playing for coach Dan Moore’s Glyn Academy squad, Mincey helped lead the Red Terror’s to a 26-3 mark as a senior. Playing the small forward position, he averaged 15 points, 10 rebounds and four assists as a senior in 2005-06.
 
Personal – Mincey is majoring in Sports & Exercise Science at WTAMU. He is the son of Elnora and Ava Mincey.
