Biography

GENERAL - Dotson developed into the Buffs most talented big man, improving both his scoring and rebounding averages in conference play, and will look to further his accomplishments in 2009-10. 2008-09 - Dotson proved to be the Buffs[apos] most physical inside player. In addition to being the team[apos]s rebounding leader (5.3 rpg.) and third leading scorer (8.9 ppg.), he also averaged 12.3 ppg. over the final nine games of the season (including five double-figure scoring outings). With the Buffs facing a must-win situation against Texas A&M-Kingsville, Dotson responded with a career-high 21 points, while also grabbing eight rebounds, blocking three shots and recording a pair of steals to lead WT to a 64-55 win. The Oakland, Calif., native broke his previous high-scoring outing of 19 points, also set against TAMU-K. He had a 14-point, two steal, one block outing against Eastern New Mexico (being a perfect 5-of-5 from the field and 4-of-4 from the line and tallied 13 points against Angelo State. He had 18 points (hitting 9-of-11 field goals) and grabbed nine rebounds at Southeastern Oklahoma. Against Angelo State, he scored 13 points and recorded a season-high three blocked shots and at Abilene Christian, he tallied 11 points while grabbing five rebounds. Dotson posted his first collegiate double-double with an 11-point, 10-rebound, two blocked shot outing against South Dakota. He scored nine points and grabbed seven rebounds at Midwestern State, hauled in nine boards against Southwestern Oklahoma, had eight points-five rebounds vs. Panhandle State, recorded six points and six rebounds at East Central, had six points and five boards against Central Oklahoma and enjoyed a 14-point, four rebound, three steal outing at Panhandle State. For the year, he also leads the squad with 18 blocked shots.

JUNIOR COLLEGE- As a post player at Phoenix (Ariz.) South Mountain Community College, Dotson helped lead the Cougars to the 2007-08 NJCAA Division II Region I Championship and a berth in the NJCAA National tournament, where they finished the season ranked seventh, nationally. Playing for head coach Dan Nichols, Dotson averaged 8.8 points and 6.1 rebounds over 33 games.

HIGH SCHOOL- Dotson played at both the power forward and center positions for coach Kevin Hartwig while at Chandler (Ariz.) Hamilton High School. As a senior, he was the squad[apos]s leading rebounder and helped lead the Huskies to the Class 5A State playoffs. Dotson was also a letterwinner in football.

PERSONAL - Dotson is the son of Darlene and Darrell Dotson. He is a General Studies major at WTAMU.
