Biography

GENERAL: Young has shown the dual purpose ability as either a pass receiver or a return specialist.


2009: In seven contests, Young returned five punts for 40 yards and caught one pass for three yards. The South Texas native had a season-long 29 yard punt return against Angelo State.


2008: Young saw action in one contest, that being against Northeastern State.  In the Maroon-White spring game, he made two receptions for 46 yards, with a long of 27 yards.


2007: Redshirt season.


HIGH SCHOOL: Young played numerous positions on offense, defense and special teams while at Brazoria (Texas) Sweeny HS.  He finished his senior campaign with 16 catches for 336 yards and 16 rushes for 186 yards while leading the Sweeny Bulldogs to an 11-3 mark.  For his efforts, he was recognized by being named first team all-District 25-3A, first team all-Brazoria County and first team all-Area.  As a junior in 2005, he was named all-District as a defensive back as well as wide receiver, in addition to all-Brazoria County as a defensive back.  Young also earned three letters in both basketball and baseball, as well as one letter in track & field.  He earned Defensive Player of the Year honors in basketball in as well as being a state qualifier in track.  Young graduated as a member of the National Honor Society and National Honor Roll and was named Academic all-State as well as being honored with Who’s Who Among American High School Students recognition.


MAJOR: Young is an Engineering Technology major at WTAMU.
