Biography

GENERAL: Having served as the Buffaloes’ punter a year ago, the Buffs’ punting duties should again be handled by this likeable Californian.
 
2009: Cowdrey averaged 36.4 yards on 46 punts as a junior. He booted five punts of 50+ yards, including a season-long 63 yarder against Nebraska-Omaha in the Lower Kanza Bowl. Cowdrey also punted 59-yard efforts against Central Oklahoma and Eastern New Mexico. He proved adept at placing the ball inside the opposing 20-yard line, as he did so eight times, while registering just two touchbacks.
 
JUNIOR COLLEGE: Cowdrey booted 52 punts for 2,101 yards to average 40.4 yards in 2008 while at Reedley College. He placed 15 of 52 efforts inside the 20 yard line and five carried for 50-plus yards. A two-time all-conference selection, Cowdrey was also selected as student Male Athlete of the Year.
 
HIGH SCHOOL: While at Reedley (Calif.) Immanuel HS, Cowdrey earned all-Central Sequoia League honors in 2006 after averaging over 44 yards per punt and logging 73 tackles as a free safety. He did this despite playing the final six games of his senior season with a dislocated thumb. He also lettered in basketball, helping lead Immanuel to the 2007 Central Section Division V championship
 
MAJOR: Cowdrey is a Communications Disorders major at WTAMU.
