GENERAL: Smith enters his senior campaign with three years of varsity experience as a member of the Buffaloes’ linebacking and coverage team units.
2009: Smith saw action in nine contests and logged seven tackles (three solo, four assisted). He had a four stop performance at Northeastern State, including his assisting on one tackle-for-loss. He also forced a fumble against Angelo State
2008: Smith saw duty in six contests, recording four tackles (two solo and two assisted). He had a two tackle outing against Northeastern State (one solo, one assisted) and logged a solo stop at Texas A&M-Kingsville as well as an assisted tackle at Angelo State.
2007: Smith saw action in four contests as a reserve, registering seven tackles (two solo, five assisted), while also breaking up three pass attempts. His most productive outing was against Adams State when he was credited with six stops (one solo, five assisted).
2006: Redshirt season.
HIGH SCHOOL: Smith was a three-year letterwinner in both football and baseball at Uvalde (Texas) HS. A two-time All-district selection at linebacker, he also garnered all-State honors as a junior in 2004. Smith was honored as Most Outstanding Male Athlete as a senior and garnered all-Southwest Texas Football accolades. In baseball, he was selected as first team all-district shortstop following both his junior and senior seasons. He was a four-time Academic all-District selection.
MAJOR: Smith has earned his bachelor’s degree from WTAMU and is pursuing his master’s degree in Sports & Exercise Sciences.
