Biography

GENERAL: Burton has developed into a true fan favorite with his ability to make the acrobatic catch above defenders.
 
2009: Burton concluded the 2009 season with three 100-yard reception games, the most recent coming when he grabbed eight passes for a 164 yards and a TD in the Buffs’ 43-15 win against Angelo State. He also caught eight passes for 115 yards at #1-ranked Abilene Christian. He registered a game-high 13 receptions for 168 yards against 10th-ranked Texas A&M-Kingsville. Against Nebraska-Omaha, he gained 82 yards on just three catches.
 
JUNIOR COLLEGE: As a receiver/kick return specialist at Long Beach CC, Burton earned first team SCFA all-Southern Conference honors after catching 39 passes for 923 yards (21.1 yards per reception). He also returned 23 kicks for 551 yards, averaging 23.9 yards per return for Coach Mike Riesbig’s squad, earning first team all-Conference honors as a receiver and all-purpose player. In 2007, he was named team MVP as well as second team all-Conference as a receiver.
 
HIGH SCHOOL: Burton attended Lakewood (Calif.) Artesia HS, where he earned offensive Player of the Year honors as a receiver and running back for coach Norm Flowers’ Pioneer squad.
 
MAJOR: Burton has not declared a major at WTAMU.
