Biography

2021: Saw time in nine games for the Buffs in 2021, finishing the season with a pair of catches for 11 yards to go along with one rush and two kick returns. Registered a season-high two catches for 11 yards against Texas College in the season opener.

2020: Appeared in four games after making the transition from quarterback to tight end. Finished the season with four catches for 38 yards and a touchdown. Had a season-high three receptions against Stephen F. Austin. Caught his first career touchdown pass in the season finale against Pittsburg State on a 11-yard pass from Nick Gerber. Also played on the defensive line in the Buffs’ victory over Angelo State on Oct. 24. 

2019: Played on offense and special teams for the Buffs in 2019. He ran the ball 13 times for 23 yards and a touchdown. He recorded his first career touchdown on a 4th-and-goal against William Jewell. Recorded a game-high five carries for 15 yards against Angelo State. Recovered a fumble against nationally-ranked Tarleton on Sept. 21. 

2018: Redshirt.

McCallum High School: Was an all-state performer for head coach Charles Taylor. Was named the District 25-5A Offensive MVP along with all-state honorable mention as a senior where he led the Knights to a 14-1 record and an appearance in the state semifinal. Was a four-year team captain. Also lettered in track & field.
 
Personal: Born on August 30, 2000. Son of Alberto and Jeanne Perez. Has one sibling. Plans on majoring in pre-med at WT.
