GENERAL: This San Antonio product has developed into a dependable cornerback in the Buffs’ secondary unit.
2009: While seeing action in all 12 contests, including making two starting appearances, Caldwell recorded a total of 20 tackles (13 solo, 7 assisted). He also registered four pass-breakups. Caldwell earned two starting assignments, with those coming against Eastern New Mexico, where he logged a season-high eight stops (four solo, four assisted), including a solo stop behind the line of scrimmage. He also earned a starting assignment at corner in the Buffs win at then top-ranked Abilene Christian.
2008: Caldwell saw activity in four contests, logging a total of three tackles (1 solo, 2 assisted). His playing time came at Eastern New Mexico (1 assisted stop), against Azusa Pacific, Midwestern State and Northeastern State (1 solo, 1 assist, 1 fumble recovery).
2007: Redshirt season.
HIGH SCHOOL: A 2006 graduate of Warren High School in San Antonio, Texas, Caldwell lettered in football as well as track & field. He garnered first team all-District 28-5A honors at both the running back and defensive back positions following both his junior and senior seasons. He also brought home all-Area Defensive Back accolades after his senior season in which he helped lead the Warriors to a 9-3 record. Caldwell compiled over 2,000 rushing yards and three interceptions during his final two seasons and averaged over 30 yards per return as a kick returner. He also garnered first team all-District track & field honors in the 110 high hurdles.
MAJOR: Caldwell is majoring in Biotechnology at WTAMU.
