2017 Outdoor: Finished 11^th in the shot put at the Lone Star Conference Championships with a mark of 13.77 meters (45-2.25). He finished third in the shot put at the West Texas A&M Invitational with a personal best throw of 14.15 meters (46-5.25).

2017 Indoor: Redshirt.

2016 Football: Appeared in one game for the Buffs as a freshman. Recorded a quarterback hit against Eastern New Mexico on Oct. 1.

High School: Graduated from Caprock High School in 2016 where he played on the offensive and defensive line under head coach Dan Sherwoon. He was a four-year varsity player for the Longhorns where he was named to the all-district team five times. He was also a district, area and regional champion in the shot put.

Personal: Born on December 4, 1997. Son of Jerry and Racheal Smith. Has two siblings: Mercatez Perkins and Jeffrey Smith. Plans on majoring in engineering at West Texas A&M.
