West Texas A&M University Athletics

2018: Started in all 11 games at safety recording 61 tackles (41 solo, 20 assisted),3 tackles for loss, 2 interceptions and a fumble recovery. Recorded a season-high 10 tackles against Eastern New Mexico in the Wagon Wheel Game. Recorded his first interception of the season in the season opener at Azusa Pacific with his second interception of the season coming in the final minutes of WT’s 35-31 comeback victory over Texas A&M-Kingsville. Recorded a tackle for loss against Tarleton, TAMUK and MSU Texas while recovering a fumble against Central Washington.

2017: Saw action in all 11 games with ten starts. Recorded 40 tackles with 35 solo. Had one tackle for loss for three yards. Led the team with four interceptions for 106 yards, while recording a team-high seven pass breakups. Led the LSC in interceptions per game at 0.4. Had a season-high six solo tackles and eight total stops against Adams State (10/14) along with one interception for 11 yards. His longest interception came against Western New Mexico (11/11) for 52 yards. Returned an interception for a touchdown in the opener against Azusa Pacific (9/2). Recorded a season-high three pass breakups against UT Permian Basin (9/16).

2016: Played in 10 games as a redshirt freshman. Tallied seven tackles with four solo stops. Saw action mainly on special teams. Had two solo tackles at UT Permian Basin (9/18). 

2015: Redshirted.

Irving High School: Played for head coach Aaron De La Torre at Irving High School.  Named Newcomer of the Year and earned all-district honors on both sides of the ball.  Also competed in basketball earning all-district accolades. 

Personal: Born May 21, 1997.  Parents are Kenetra Shelton and Kevin Thomas.  Has three siblings.  Plans on majoring in communications/journalism at WT.
