2011: Smith saw time in all 11 games for the Buffs as a junior in 2011, registering 59 tackles (29 solo, 30 assisted) to go along with a half of a tackle for loss. The junior safety broke up three passes on the season including two against Texas A&M-Commerce and he also recovered a fumble against Midwestern State. For his efforts on the field, Smith was named a member of the All-Lone Star Conference Honorable Mention Team.

2010: Started in seven of nine games he played in and collected 51 total tackles, coming up with 22 solo tackles on the season. Registered a pair of interceptions for a total of 10 yards and was in on five pass break-ups.

2009: As a redshirt freshman, Smith earned a starting role at free safety, making nine starting appearances over 11 contests (he missed the Northeastern State contest due to a family issue).  During that time, he registered 87 tackles (43 solo, 44 assisted), the third-highest total among all Buffalo defenders.  Smith had a season-high 15 stops (three solo, 12 assisted) at Midwestern State and logged 11 tackles (seven solo, four assisted) against Nebraska-Omaha.  He also intercepted three passes, including one which he returned 43 yards against Angelo State, as well as having picks against TAMU-Kingsville and Nebraska-Omaha.  An active coverage man, Smith registered four pass breakups over the year, including a season-high two against TAMU-Kingsville.

2008: Medical redshirt.

2007: Redshirt season.

HIGH SCHOOL: Smith played on both sides of the ball for the Killeen (Texas) Kangaroos, earning first team all-District and Team MVP honors. In 10 games, he recorded 113 tackles, three fumble recoveries, two interceptions and forced a pair of fumbles. Smith was also a two-year letterwinner in basketball.

MAJOR: Smith is majoring in Sports & Exercise Science at WTAMU.
