2012 Season Stats

2012: Had an outstanding first season in a Buffalo uniform as he played in all 15 games with 14 starts on the defensive line. He had 60 total tackles with 29 solo stops and led the team and conference with 28 tackles for loss for 139 yards.  He led the team, the league and the nation in sacks with a school-record 19.5 sacks for 116 yards.  He had two pass breakups and a team-high 19 quarterback hurries, while forcing three fumbles. Westbrooks had just four sacks in the first six games, but finished with 15.5 over the final nine games as the Buffs earned a berth in the NCAA Semifinal.  Westbrooks racked up the accolades this season as he spearheaded the top pass rush in NCAA Division II and was named the Ron Lenz Daktronics Division II National Defensive Player of the Year and Super Region Four Defensive Player of the Year.  He also was named Don Hanson All-Super Region Four Defensive Player of the Year, while earning first team honors and was the Lone Star Conference J.V. Sykes Defensive Player of the Year.   He also earned first team Little All-America honors, and was a first team D2Football.com all-America honoree.  Westbrooks was named LSC Defensive Player of the Week twice. 

Sacramento City College: Played defensive end for Coach Waller.  Earned all-league honors all-conference accolades and all-state in 2011.

Franklin High School: Played at Franklin HS where he earned all-league and all-conference honors.  Also participated in track and field as he threw the shot put and discus.   

Personal: Born November 15, 1990.  Mother is Trisha Warren.  Has seven siblings Twan, Ashley, Aja, Akisa, Arianna, Lily and Joseph.  Majoring in nursing with a business minor at WT.
