2014 Season Stats

Career Stats: Has 100 total tackles with 47 solo stops, along with 3.5 tackles for loss, 0.5 sacks, three interceptions, five pass breakupsand a forced fumble in 29 games.

2014: Ranked fifth on the team in total tackles with 53.  Tallied 23 solo stops.  Named first team all-conference.  Had two tackles for loss for six yards.  Played in 10 games and started eight. Recorded half a sack for three yards.  Had one interception and a force fumble against Tarleton State (Sept. 13), while recording three pass breakups. 

2013: Had a strong sophomore season as he played in all 14 games with three starts in the secondary for the Buffs.  Tallied 45 total tackles with 24 solo stops, along with 1.5 tackles for loss for four yards.  Tied for second on the team in interceptions with two for 16 yards and had two pass breakups, along with a fumble recovery. He had a season-high eight total tackles against Angelo State with five solo stops and recorded interceptions at McMurry and at Indianapolis.

2012: Played in five games as a redshirt freshman.  Recorded two assisted tackles on the year in games against Western State and at Angelo State.

2011: Redshirted.

Sonora High School: Morriss graduated from Sonora HS (Texas) in 2011, playing quarterback for the Broncos under the guidance of head coach David Sine. He led the Broncos to the District 13-2A Championship as a senior, being named a two-time All-West Texas MVP while at SHS. Morriss was also a member of the National Honor Society and lettered in basketball, baseball and track.

Personal: Born July 14, 1992.  Parents are Steve and Erica Morriss.  Has two siblings Stephani and Desirae.  Morriss is majoring in sports & exercise science at West Texas A&M.
