Career:
He has played in 30 games with 25 starts behind center.  Vaughan is 593 of 949 passing (62.5) with 19 interceptions and 70 touchdowns.  He has thrown for 8,124 yards which is third-most in school history and seventh nationally among active career leaders. He is just 1,675 yards behind school career record holder Taylor Harris (9,799).  Vaughan is eighth nationally among active career leaders in touchdowns, fifth in passing yards per game (207.8), sixth in passing efficiency (154.73), 12th in total offense yards (8,295) and sixth in total offense yards per game (276.5).

2012: Had a record-setting season as a junior both on and off the field.  He played and started all 15 games as the Buffs reached the NCAA Semifinal for the first time in school history.  He threw for 4,712 yards which is the third-most in school history.  He went 359 of 555 with 13 interceptions and 45 touchdowns which is the second-most TD passes in a season in school history.  Vaughan had a 158.07 passing efficiency and completed 64.7 percent of his passes while averaging 314.1 passing yards per game.  He threw for a season-high 409 yards against Western State and had a season-high five touchdowns twice, against Western State and at West Georgia.  He had nine games of throwing over 300 yards.  Vaughan was named Lone Star Conference Offensive Player of the Year, first team all-conference, LSC Academic Player of the Year and earned Capital One/CoSIDA Academic Player of the Year for Division II Football.  He was a final eight selection for the Harlon Hill Trophy.  Vaughan earned LSC Player of the Week accolades twice and was a second team Daktronics Super Region Four selection.  He earned second team D2Football.com All-America accolades and was a third team BSN Sports All-America selection.  He led the conference in just about every offensive passing category.  He finished 10th nationally in passing efficiency at 158.07 and 10th in total offense at 323.40.

2011: The 2011 campaign saw a breakout year for Vaughan and the West Texas A&M offense as he led the team to an 8-3 record and a win in the Kanza Bowl over #23 Central Missouri. Vaughan stepped into a starting role for the Buffs in the second game of the season on one of the biggest stages in sports, Cowboys Stadium, against #5 Texas A&M-Kingsville and the Corpus Christi native didn’t disappoint as he threw for 384 yards and three touchdowns in a 42-21 win. Vaughan finished the season going 227-for-382 for 3,316 yards and 25 touchdowns with just six interceptions to garner Honorable Mention all-Lone Star Conference accolades at the end of the season. Vaughan’s best statistical game came on October 29 at home against Central Washington as he threw for a career high 430 yards with four touchdowns to go along with 21 yards on the ground in the 49-35 win over the Wildcats.

2010: Vaughan saw time in four games during his redshirt freshman campaign for the Buffs in 2010 as the third string quarterback. He went 7-for-12 for 96 yards for a efficiency of 125.53 while also rushing for nine yards on four attempts. Against Southwestern Oklahoma, Vaughn went 5-of-10 for 63 yards including his longest pass of the season, a 29 yard completion to Sidney Parker.

2009: Redshirted.

Calallen High School: Vaughn earned first team all-District 31-4A honors as both a quarterback as well as a punter. He also earned all-Metro and all-South Texas honors with Coach Phil Danaher. An all-State academic selection, he graduated in the top 10 of his class and was a member of the National Honor Society. Vaughn also played basketball and baseball in high school, being named a basketball newcomer of the year and helping his baseball team to a class 4A state championship.

Personal: Born January 27, 1991.  Parents are Scott and Gina Vaughan.  Has one sibling Dillon who is a freshman at WT on the football team.  Majoring in biology pre-Med at WT.
