GENERAL: One of the Buffs’ top pass protectors, this talented local product is once again hoping to brush aside the injuries which have limited his playing time over the past two seasons.
2009: Sherwood saw starting action over the initial three games of the season before being sidelined by a season-ending illness, resulting in his receiving a medical hardship.
2008: Sherwood saw action in 10 games, making two starts (against Southwestern Oklahoma and Midwestern State). He was plagued throughout the season by an arm injury, but continued playing despite severe pain and having to wear cumbersome padding.
2007: After not playing football for a season, Sherwood quickly returned to form and was instrumental in the Buffs’ pass protection as a starter at right tackle.
2006: Sherwood attended Baylor for one semester, but did not play football.
HIGH SCHOOL: Sherwood graduated from Amarillo (Texas) HS in 2005 after lettering in football, basketball and track. He was named honorable mention all-State and second team academic all-State, as well as earning all-District 2-5A honors. He lettered three times in basketball and twice in track & field, finishing third at the State meet in the shot put. He was honored with Who’s Who Among American High School Students recognition.
MAJOR: Sherwood, a 2008 LSC Commissioner’s Honor Roll honoree, is a graduate student in WT’s Sports & Exercise Sciences program. He is married to the former Megan Fogg of Amarillo, Texas.
