Biography

2011-2013 Colorado State: In 2013, saw action in one game for the Rams against Wyoming, all while backing up starting quarterback Garrett Grayson.  In 2012 Injuries to the quarterback unit rushed Conner Smith into action for the final six games. Smith, who started four games, led the team passing for 1,022 yards and six TDs.
•Played in his first career collegiate game at San Diego State (Oct. 13), when starting quarterback M.J. McPeek hurt his non-throwing shoulder...with 5:21 remaining in the first half Smith entered the game and connected on his first 11 passes...at the end he finished the game 18-for-22 for 165 yards.
•In his first career start vs. Hawai'i (Oct. 27), Smith led the Rams to victory 42-27 while completing 10 passes for 115 yards and one touchdown...his first-career TD was a quick pass into the flat to Chris Nwoke.
•Threw for a career-high 326 yards and two TDs on the road at Wyoming (Nov. 3).
•Finished the 2012 campaign with a 3-0 record at home as a starter.
In 2011, redshirted his first season in Fort Collins.

Travis High School: A two-sport star and two-year starting quarterback at Travis High School in Fort Bend, a suburb southwest of Houston, was a Houston Chronicle Top 100 selection after his senior season...Also was rated the 12th-best quarterback in Texas by ESPN Rise...A West Regional finalist for the Elite 11, was featured as a Next-Level Athlete by FOX Sports, and noted as a top quarterback in Dave Campbell's Texas Football Preview...Additionally, was rated the top quarterback at the 2009 Army All-American Combine...Earned honorable-mention all-district honors as a senior after passing for 1,039 yards and six TDs, starting every game for THS...Also ran for two TDs, as the Tigers won the District 23-5A title and earned a berth in the first round of the state playoffs...As a junior in 2009, threw for 1,020 yards and seven TDs, with four INTs...Head football coach was Randy Cunningham...Lettered twice in football and is expected to graduate with two letters in baseball...Owned 4.9-second speed in the 40-yard dash and bench pressed 275 pounds...Had a 3.0 GPA...Also recruited by Alabama, Arizona, Arizona State, Arkansas, Texas A&M and UTEP.
