Le'Marcus Gibson

Le’Marcus Gibson joined the West Texas A&M football staff with a focus on the defensive secondary in the summer of 2022.
 
Gibson came to Canyon following three seasons at Holmes Community College in Goodman, Mississippi where he served as the Defensive Coordinator for the Dogs over the last two campaigns.
 
The Starkville, Mississippi native spent three seasons at Oklahoma Panhandle State from 2016-2018, he helped the Aggies claim 15 victories during those three seasons including a 6-5 mark during the 2018 campaign when he served as Defensive Coordinator.
 
Gibson started his coaching career as a graduate assistant at Grambling State University in 2015 as the strength and conditioning coach, he then moved Nicholls State for one season coaching the safeties.
 
Gibson was a three-year standout at Louisiana-Lafayette from 2010-12 where he played in 30 games, registering 121 total tackles (72 solo, 49 assisted) to go along with a pair of interceptions and a forced fumble. He started his collegiate career as a safety and linebacker at the University of Hawaii followed by one season at Mississippi Golf Coast Community College.
 
He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Kinesiology from Louisiana-Lafayette (2011) and a Master’s in Sports Administration from Grambling State (2015).
