Harris enters his first season in Canyon after spending time as a graduate assistant at Troy where he worked with the safeties. Prior to working with the Trojans, he spent a season at Coffeyville Community College where he mentored First Team All-KJCCC selection Markquese Bell and Second Team All-KJCCC selections McArthur Burnett and Malik Smith. He also spent time at Crandall High School and Frisco High School.

Harris signed with the Arizona Cardinals after an outstanding four-year career at the University of Oklahoma where he appeared in 44 games including 21 starts at safety. During his senior season in 2012 he tied for 11thin the nation and third in the Big 12 in interceptions with six while ranking second on the team in total tackles. He was also named the Big 12 and Nagurski National Defensive Player of the Week as a junior after picking off two passes against Florida State. Prepped at MacArthur High School in Lawton, Oklahoma where he was a SuperPrepAll-American.Â
