Jack Harris 2021

Jack Harris

Jack Harris joined the West Texas A&M Football coaching staff in the Summer of 2021.

Harris comes to Canyon following one season as an offensive graduate assistant at Michigan State where the Spartans claimed Top-25 victories over #13 Michigan and #8 Northwestern during the 2020 campaign. Harris spent the previous two seasons at his alma mater, Colorado as an offensive graduate assistant.

He returned to Colorado after spending one season working with the offensive line as a graduate assistant at Central Michigan in 2017. Prior to arriving at CMU, he was the tight ends coach for Western Colorado (2016) and the offensive line coach at Tabor College (2015).

The Littleton, Colorado native was a three-year starter for the Buffaloes, having started all 12 games at left offensive tackle as a senior, when he played the second-most snaps on offense and the fourth-most on the team overall (799). His teammates selected him as a captain his senior year, as well as earning first-team All-Colorado honors from the state’s chapter of the National Football Foundation and shared the team’s Offensive Trench Award. He also played every snap (56) on the FG/PAT unit on special teams.

As a junior in 2012, he started 11 games, six at right guard and five at right tackle, finally getting some consistent playing time after missing the bulk of the 2011 season (his sophomore campaign) with an ankle injury. Harris graduated with a double major in anthropology and sociology from Colorado in May 2013.

Harris registered a standout prep career at Chaparral High School where he lettered in football and basketball; he was a high school All-American as an offensive lineman and was also named first-team All-Colorado and All-State (5A) by both the Denver Post and Rocky Mountain News. He is married to the former Jessica Ermish, and the couple have one child, Kahlea.
