Haddan is in his sixth season as assistant head coach and defensive line coach after moving to Canyon joining Hughes staff from Colorado State-Pueblo in 2017.
The 2021 campaign saw the Buffs finish 7-4 overall including 5-2 in Lone Star Conference action. WT went 5-2 inside of Buffalo Stadium as well as finishing the season on a three-game win streak with victories over Texas A&M-Kingsville, Midwestern State and Bethel College.
The challenging 2020Â season saw the Buffaloes push the envelope as they implemented strict but effective protocols that allowed WT to play the most games by any Division II institution during the COVID-19 Pandemic, finishing the fall with a 3-3 overall mark.
In 2019, Gerred Johnson earned First Team All-Lone Star Conference honors. The senior started in all 11 games for the Buffs recording 40 tackles, 14.0 tackles for loss, the 8th most in a single season in program history, 4.5 sacks, nine QB hurries and a blocked kick.Â
In his second season at WT, Haddan mentored a pair of Lone Star Conference Honorable Mention performers, Lance Hyder and G. Johnson, who were part of a defensive line that recorded 21 sacks and 73 tackles for loss. During his first season in Canyon, the defensive line was led by senior Daelin Young who registered a team-high 12 tackles for loss and eight sacks.Â
In Haddan's second stint at CSUP as an assistant coach, he guided Morgan Fox to All-America honors in 2015 as Fox was the Runner-Up for the Gene Upshaw Award for the top lineman in Division II. Fox signed as an undrafted free agent contract with the Los Angeles Rams and was named Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Year. Teammate and nose guard Tony Campton was a 1st Team All-RMAC peformer.
Haddan spent the 2014 season at Western State Colorado where he was the offensive line coach for the Mountaineers and was an assistant at CSUP from 2012-14. In his first stint in Pueblo, Haddan was responsible for coaching tight ends and assisting the offensive line.Â
He graduated from CSUP in 2012 with a Bachelor's degree in exercise science. Haddan earned 1st Team All-RMAC honors and All-Region accolades, while earning 3rd Team All-America honors as a senior in 2011.
