Aschenbeck enters his second season as a graduate assistant on Hughes' staff following an impressive four-year career at Angelo State.

During his first season in Canyon, Aschenbeck helped with the linebackers including all-conference performers Frank Honang and Hayden Dennis. He also assisted in breaking down film and recruiting. 

During his time in San Angelo, Aschenbeck earned Lone Star Conference Honorable Mentions twice including as a senior in 2018 where he recorded a team-high 121 tackles. He tallied double digits tackles in eight games including a season-high 15 against Texas A&M-Kingsville where he also had 3.5 tackles for loss.  

As a junior in 2017, he recorded 99 tackles, including 39 solo tackles, 5.5 tackles for loss, two sacks and two fumble recoveries. He also earned LSC All-Academic honors for his work in the classroom. 

Son of Ross and Richelle Aschenbeck. Has two siblings. His grandfather, Harvey Aschenbeck, and his father both played football at Texas A&M.
