Bassett enters his fourth season as the offensive line coach and second as run game coordinator.

The offensive line continued to improve under Bassett as the Buffs produced 363 yards in total offense per game in 2019. Under Bassett's tutelage, Parker Hanna earned Second Team All-Lone Star Conference honors after the Buffs rushed 31 touchdowns, the most in a single season since in more than a decade. Jordan Johnson and Nick Gerber each rushed for a team-high eight scores. WT also ranked first in the LSC and 15th in the nation in sacks allowed.

In 2018, Bassett's offensive line paved the way for All-Lone Star Conference performer Duke Carter IV, who rushed for 259 yards in a win over nationally ranked Central Washington on the road followed by a four touchdown performance a week later against UT Permian Basin. Senior Travis Vornkahl also earned Second Team All-LSC recognition.

After completing his collegiate career at Oklahoma State (2009-12), compiling a record of 40-12, Bassett spent time at the University of Missouri and Maryland. During his three seasons in Columbia, UM finished 23-5 including back-to-back SEC East Division titles from 2013-14. At Maryland, he worked primarily with the offensive line that blocked for Ty Johnson, who set a school record for yards per carry in a season.

The Tuttle, Okla. native, was a four-year letterman and Senior Captain at Oklahoma State compiling a record of 40-12 from 2009-12 where he played tight end and along the defensive line for the Cowboys.

Bassett earned his Bachelor's degree in science from OSU in 2012 and a Master's of Education from Missouri in 2015.

He is married to Samantha Bassett.
