Biography

GENERAL: Golden had a breakthrough season in 2009 as he developed into one of the LSC’s true deep-threat receivers. Entering his junior campaign, he is poised to join WT’s top-10 career leaders in receiving yards.
 
2009: The Denver City, Texas, native’s total receiving yards ranks as the eighth most productive season in WT history. For the year, he accounted for 46 catches, a team-high 946 yards (averaging 20.6 yards per reception), ranking fifth among LSC receiving yards-per-game leaders and scored 10 TDs. Over the final three games of the 2009 season, perhaps no receiver was more productive than Golden. He earned Kanza Bowl Most Outstanding Player honors against Nebraska-Omaha with his five catches for 119 yards and one TD. In the regular-season finale at Tarleton State, he caught six passes for a career-high 201 yards and one TD in the Buffs’ 49-35 win, as he posted TD catches of 92 and 53 yards against the Texans. He also had seven catches for 178 yards and a career-best three TDs at Northeastern State.
 
2008: As a redshirt freshman, Golden saw action in all 13 contests, making 11 catches for 92 yards, an average of 8.4 yards per reception. He twice caught a season-high two passes – against Azusa Pacific he had two catches for 10 yards and at Eastern New Mexico he snared two receptions for a season-high 32 yards. His season-long was a 17 yard reception that came during that ENMU contest.
 
2007: Redshirt season.
 
HIGH SCHOOL: Golden was a two-way starter for the Denver City (Texas) Mustangs, playing both wide receiver as well as defensive back. As a senior in 2006, he earned second team all-Region honors while being a first-team all-District 5-2A selection. He also played infield for the Mustangs’ baseball team, earning first team all-District 5-2A honors.
 
MAJOR: Golden is a Sports & Exercise Sciences major at WTAMU.
