GENERAL: Having made 21 appearances over the past two seasons, this Amarillo product is one of the Buffs[apos] more experienced, dependable, offensive linemen.

2008: McCarty made seven starting appearances (at Mesa State, at Central Oklahoma, Azusa Pacific, Southwestern Oklahoma, at Texas A&M-Kingsville, at Eastern New Mexico and at Angelo State) over 12 contests at offensive tackle.

2007: McCarty saw action in nine contests as a reserve on the offensive line.

2006: Redshirt season.

HIGH SCHOOL: McCarty started at center and long snapper for the Amarillo (Texas) HS Golden Sandies. He garnered first team all-District and third team all-Region honors as a senior in 2005, and was selected to participate in the West Texas and THSCA All-Star games. He was also honored with a spot on the Golden Spread Super Team and the Amarillo Globe News Super Team. McCarty was a member of Who[apos]s Who Among High School Students.

MAJOR: McCarty is majoring in Sports & Exercise Science at WTAMU.
