Biography

GENERAL: A very active and tenacious defender, Wampler should see action on both defense and as a deep snapper.


2009: Wampler made an impact, seeing action in 11 contests (he missed the Midwestern State game due to injury) and making a start at Northeastern State. During his playing time, he logged 23 tackles (15 solo, eight assisted) from his defensive tackle position. His 6.5 sacks (for minus-43 yards) ranked third among Buffalo defenders, as well as 52nd among national leaders.  Overall, he had a total of 9.5 tackles behind the line for minus-49 yards.  Wampler twice registered four tackles in a contest (Central Oklahoma and at Central Washington).  He registered a season-high 12 yards in losses against Eastern New Mexico and had a season-high three TFLs at Abilene Christian


2008: Redshirt season.


HIGH SCHOOL: Wampler enjoyed a standout career at Wolfforth (Texas) Frenship HS, helping to lead the Tigers to a 35-8 record from 2005-07. He was selected as the District 4-4A Defensive MVP in both 2006 and 2007, was named to the Texas Sports Writers Association all-State team in both 2006 and 2007 as well as the AP all-State team in 2007. As a junior in 2006, Wampler compiled 137 tackles, including 20 for loss, four forced fumbles and 13 sacks. During his sophomore campaign, he collected 72 stops, eight behind the line of scrimmage.


MAJOR: Wampler is majoring in Sports & Exercise Sciences at WTAMU.
