Biography

2016-17 (Junior):
Gerber saw time in 18 games for the Buffs as a junior during the 2016-17 campaign, averaging 5.2 minutes per contest and 0.4 points. The Dumas native went 2-of-9 (22.2%) from the field including 1-of-5 (20%) from deep and 2-of-4 (50%) from the free throw line to go along with nine rebounds (0.5/game), three assists and three steals.

Gerber registered a season-high three points on November 22nd at the First United Bank Center against Oklahoma Panhandle State in a 105-66 victory. He also excelled in the classroom, being named a member of the NABC Honors Court.

2015-16 (Sophomore):
Gerber had a great sophomore campaign for WT in 2015-16, seeing time in all 31 contests with 21 starts for the Buffs as he averaged 13.3 minutes per game. The Dumas product went 22-64 (34.4%) from the floor including 17-53 (32.1%) from behind the arc and 7-8 (87.5%) from the charity stripe for the Buffs to go along with 62 total rebounds (2.0/game).

Gerber dished out 26 assists on the season to go along with four blocks and 12 steals. He made his first career start against Nova Southeastern (Nov. 27) during the Pak-A-Sak WT Thanksgiving Classic and he followed that up with a career-high 15 points the next day against Emporia State as the sophomore went 5-8 from the floor including 3-5 from behind the arc.
 
2014-15 (Freshman):
As a redshirt freshman in 2014-15, Gerber saw time in 28 contests for the Buffs. He averaged 1.6 points and 7.4 minutes per game. Gerber scored a season-high 11 points in a win over Harding (Nov. 28) during the Pak-A-Sak WT Thanksgiving Classic.

2013-14 (Redshirt):
Gerber redshirted for the Buffs during the 2013-14 season.

At Dumas High School: 
Gerber graduated from nearby Dumas HS (Texas) in 2013 where he played guard for the Demons under head coach Marcus Klingsick. The sharp shooting guard averaged over 13 points and six rebounds per contest as he was named 2nd Team All-District 3-4A three different times. Gerber also excelled in the classroom, picking up Amarillo Globe News Scholar Athlete of the Year accolades while ranking sixth in his graduating class.

Born May 3rd. Gerber is the son of Chris and Kelly Gerber and he has one sibling, Reghan.
