2019 (Redshirt):
Mays redshirted for the Buffaloes during the 2019 campaign.

At Amarillo High School:
Mays comes to WT following a stellar prep career at Amarillo High School where he helped the Sandies to an overall record of 30-12-1 and a run to the Texas Class 5A Regional Finals, he was a two-way player for head coach Jeff Timmons as he hit .390 at the plate for the Sandies to go along with an 8-2 record on the mound with a 2.1 ERA. As a junior in 2017, he was an All-State selection on the mound and at the plate while being named the Amarillo Globe News Player of the Year. He led the state in doubles, triples and RBI as he hit .402 at the plate with a 9-1 record (1.49 ERA) on the mound.

Born July 8, 1999. Son of Eric and Cherity Mays and he has one sister, Madison. Majoring in Business Management at West Texas A&M.
