Biography

2019-20 (Senior)
Finished his career as the winningest player in program history after appearing in all 33 games for the Buffs as a senior. He averaged 6.1 points, 1.8 rebounds and 1.6 assists per game in his final season in Maroon & White while shooting 36.8 percent from the floor, 35.7 percent from beyond the arc and 85.0 percent from the free throw line. Scored in double figures six times including a career-high 20 points on Senior Day against Cameron shooting 6-of-13 from 3-point range. He also pulled down five rebounds in the 105-68 victory over the Aggies. He scored 12 points in WT’s come-from-behind victory over No. 9 St. Edward’s in the LSC Championship. Recorded a season-high five assists in a win over Texas A&M-Commerce on Feb. 22. 

2018-19 (Junior)
Collins was the top bench player for the Buffs in 2018-19 averaging 6.7 points per game in 34 appearances helping WT to back-to-back Elite Eight appearances. In a career-high 18.2 minutes per game, he went 71-of-175 from the floor, 66-of-155 from three-point range and 21-of-28 from the free throw line with 49 rebounds, 27 assists and 15 steals. Reached double figures in10 games including a career-high 15 points against New Mexico Highlands in the first round of the NCAA Tournament in Canyon going 5-of-8 from beyond the arc. Recorded 11 games with three or more makes from beyond the arc. Went a perfect 6-of-6 from three throw line against Lindenwood (11/3).

2017-18 (Sophomore):
Collins appeared in 35 games including five starts as a sophomore in 2017-18 where he averaged 5.5 points per game. The Houston, Texas native averaged 17.3 minutes per game while going 62-of-148 (41.9%) from the floor, 43-of-103 (41.7%) from beyond the arc and 25-of-35 (71.4%) from the free-throw line. He also had 54 rebounds, 56 assists, 20 steals and two blocks. He scored in double figures eight times including a career-high 14 at Eastern New Mexico on Dec. 2 where he went 3-of-4 from deep.

2016-17 (Freshman):
Collins saw time in 19 games for the Buffs during his true freshman campaign in 2016-17 as the Houston native averaged 4.8 minutes per contest. He went 12-of-30 (40%) from the field including 5-of-18 (27.8%) from behind the arc and 1-of-5 (20%) from the free throw line with 16 total rebounds (0.8/game). Collins dished out 13 assists on the season to go along with five steals and 30 total points scored to average 1.6 per contest. He registered a career-high 11 points on November 22nd against Oklahoma Panhandle State, going 5-of-7 from the floor including 1-of-2 from deep while grabbing three rebounds.

At Cypress Ridge High School:
Collins joined the Buffs following a standout prep career at Cypress Ridge High School (Texas) where he played for the Rams under head coach Gary Thiebaud. He averaged 21.4 points per contest as a senior for the Rams while dishing out 2.3 assists per contest and grabbing 5.3 rebounds per game.
