2022:
Cantwell made just two appearances out of the bullpen for the Buffs during the 2022 campaign as he recovered from injury in 2021. The Shawnee, Kansas native allowed one earned run on on hit with one walk and a strikeout during his 1.2 innings of relief for an opposing batting average of just .167.

2021:
Cantwell redshirted for the Buffs during the 2021 campaign.

At Fort Scott Community College:
Cantwell came to Canyon following two seasons at Fort Scott Community College in Fort Scott, Kansas. The left-hander made 12 appearances (6-0) with five starts on the mound for the Greyhounds during his freshman campaign, registering a 2.75 ERA in his 36.0 innings of work with 52 strikeouts for an average of 13.00 per game. Cantwell also excelled in the classroom as a recipient of the Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship.

At Mill Valley High School:
Cantwell graduated from Mill Valley High School in Shawnee, Kansas in 2017. He registered a 1.10 ERA to go along with a .475 batting average for the Jaguars under head coach Jeff Strickland, earning the team's Most Valuable Player award.

Personal:
Born March 1, 1999. Son of David and Sheryl Cantwell and he has three siblings: Amy, Joel and Davis. Majoring in Sports & Exercise Science at West Texas A&M with a minor in Applied Sports.
