Matt Redfearn begins his first season as a student baseball coach for the Buffs. 

Redfearn finished his eligibility last season as he was a two-year starter at shortstop helping lead the Buffs to a school-record 37-21 mark and a berth in the program's first NCAA regional in 2014.

The Upland, Calif., native, played and started in 49 games as a junior in 2013 after transferring from Chaffey College.  Redfearn hit .338 as a junior leading the team in hits with 66.  He had 10 doubles, two triples and three home runs.  Refearn finished second on the team in RBI with 37 and led the team with 89 total bases.  He eearned second team all-conference honors and had a team-high 21 multi-hit games.

In 2014, Redfearn continued his strong play as he finished third in average at .346.  He had 82 to hits which was second on the team and tallied 13 doubles, five triples and three home runs.  He drove in 41 which tied for second on the team and scored a team-high 61 runs.  Redfearn slugged .481 and reached base at a .421 clip.  He earned South Central Region All-Tournament honors and first team all-conference accolades.
