Cooper Harris enters his first season in the dugout for the Buffaloes after being hired as WT's pitching coach in the summer of 2024.
Harris comes to Canyon following two seasons at Lone Star Conference member Cameron where he oversaw the Aggie pitching staff while serving as CU’s leading recruiter. Cooper spent one season as an assistant coach at Vernon College, working with pitchers and catchers while also organizing camps, practices and weight room scheduling.

The Broken Arrow, Oklahoma native and Celina High School graduate started his collegiate career at NOC-Enid where the Jets claimed the 2018 Region 2 Championship and advanced to the NJCAA Division II College World Series where they finished third. Harris earned All-Region accolades, striking out 70 opposing batters in 64.2 innings with a 3.48 ERA.

Harris played three seasons for the Buffaloes from 2019-21 where he made 26 appearances in relief, striking out 28 batters in his 28.0 innings of work. WT won a pair of Lone Star Conference Championships (2019, 2021) during his time in Canyon as the Buffs advanced to three straight NCAA Tournaments including a run to the program’s first South Central Regional Finals in 2021. Harris earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from West Texas A&M in 2020.
