At West Texas A&M, high-level championship softball isn’t something that happens every now and then, it’s expected. The combination of great coaching, outstanding student-athletes, top-notch facilities and a high level of support have made Lady Buff Softball one of the premiere programs in all of NCAA Division II since its return to campus in the Spring of 2006.

Over the past 11 seasons under the guidance of Kevin Blaskowski, the Lady Buffs have won four Lone Star Conference Championships with six appearances in the NCAA Postseason including the program’s first NCAA Division II National Championship in 2014. Blaskowski, the 2014 National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Division II National Coach of the Year, holds an overall record of 424-235 in Canyon along with a 776-512 mark in his 24-year career.

The Lady Buffs have dominated the Lone Star Conference since the start of the 2014 season, winning the last three LSC Championships. WT has registering an overall record of 75-12 during the last three seasons in LSC play for a winning percentage of 86.2%.

2014 DREAM SEASON
The Lady Buffs concluded a dream season on Memorial Day 2014 as they claimed the program’s first ever NCAA Division II National Championship in a 3-2 thrilling win over Valdosta State at the Moyer Sports Complex in Salem, Virginia.

WT IN THE NFCA DIVISION II POLL
WT Softball has spent 41 straight weeks ranked inside of the National Fastpitch Coaches Associaton (NFCA) Division II Top-25 Poll. The Lady Buffs have been ranked in the Top-5 in 38 polls since the start of the 2014 season while sitting atop of the poll an incredible 29 times.

BEST IN THE LONE STAR STATE
Since the start of the 2010 season, West Texas A&M has registered the most wins by any Texas team in any level of NCAA softball with a mark of 338-90 (.790). The next closest Division II team is South Central Region rival St. Mary’s at 294-116 (.717) and defending Division III National Champion UT-Tyler has gone 304-53 (.852) since 2010.

WELCOME TO SCHAEFFER PARK
West Texas A&M University is home to one of the finest Division II softball complexes in the nation. Schaeffer Park is a state-of-the-art in every way and provides West Texas A&M softball players and coaches with an all-inclusive complex that includes locker rooms, meeting rooms, batting cages and one of the best playing surfaces anywhere in the country. The lighted facility is made completely of AstroTurf GameDay 3D synthetic turf with the combination of green and chocolate brown for a perfect looking playing surface year-round. The stands feature 235 chair back seats for members of the Buffalo Club and season ticket holder and another 300 general admission seats for a total capacity of 535.
