2018: Appeared in 11 games including 3 starts as a freshman recording 18 tackles (8 solo, 10 assisted), 2.0 tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks and a fumble recovery. Recorded a season-high 4 tackles including a sack against Texas A&M-Commerce on Oct. 27. Also recorded 0.5 sack against UT Permian Basin. Recovered a fumble in the season opener against Azusa Pacific.

Lubbock Coronado High School: Graduated in 2018 where he played as a linebacker and on the defensive line for the Mustangs. As a senior, he was part of team that went 13-1. Also lettered in wrestling and track & field where he was a state qualifier in the discus.
 
Personal: Born on November 16, 1999. Son of Hector Garcia and Rosie Gonzales. Has three siblings. Plans on majoring in criminal justice.
