2017 Outdoor: Earned All-American honors as a member of the 4x400-meter relay that finished 5
th at the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships held in Bradenton, Fla. The junior ran the third leg on the relay that ran a seasonal best time of 3:10.87. He also competed in the 110-meter hurdles at the championships where he finished 13
th in personal best time of 14.30.Had a great performance at the Lone Star Conference Championships where he finished second in the 110m hurdles, fourth in the decathlon and sixth in the 400-meter hurdles. He ran a personal best time of 14.37 in the 100m hurdles to earn 2
nd team All-LSC honors. That time also ranked 22nd time in the nation. His score of 6,390 in the decathlon was also a personal best and was the 31
st best score in all of Division II. He finished second in the 110m hurdles at the West Texas A&M Last chance running 14.39.
2017 Indoor: Finished sixth in the heptathlon with 4,568 points at the Lone Star Conference Championships. That is the fourth-best performance in school history. He also finished fourth in the 60-meter hurdles running 8.29 in the finals. Finished second in the heptathlon at the Grizzly/Buffalo Clash with 4,399 points. Provisionally qualified for the NCAA Championships in the 60m hurdles running 8.22 UNM Cherry & Silver Invite and Don Kirby Invite.
Limestone College: Won the 110-meter hurdles at the 2016 Conference Carolinas Championships running 14.53 in the final. Was also a member of the Saints team that won the Conference Carolinas Indoor team title.
High School: Graduated from Woodstock High School in 2014 where he was a region champ and state qualifier in the 110-meter hurdles, 300-meter hurdles and triple jump during his junior and senior year. He also holds the school record in all three events including the 4x100-meter relay.
Personal: Born on April 20, 1995. Son of Patrick and Katrina Drones. Has three siblings. Plans on majoring in sports and exercise science at West Texas A&M.
