Biography

2015 (Junior):
Bayer became a go-to force in the circle for the Lady Buffs as a junior in 2015 as the Floresville native went 6-3 in the circle with a team-low 2.19 ERA while tossing two complete games and leading the team in saves with five. Bayer saw time in 26 contests with five starts on the season, tossing 70.1 total innings and allowing 65 hits with 40 strikeouts and an opponent batting average of .245. She also made the most out of her five plate appearance, hitting a pair of homeruns to drive in four RBI for a slugging percentage of 1.600 on the season. Bayer also excelled in the classroom for the Lady Buffs, being named a member of the Lone Star Conference All-Academic Team.

2014 (Sophomore):
Bayer saw time in 21 contests with nine starts during her sophomore campaign for the Lady Buffs in 2014, going a perfect 11-0 with a 2.42 ERA with four complete games and a shutout in 66.2 innings of work. The Floresville native was a nice compliment to WT’s Rita Hokianga and Hannah Newcomb as Bayer gave up just 62 hits and 29 runs with 56 strikeouts for an opponent batting average of .243. She led the Lone Star Conference in win percentage (1.000) and ERA (2.16) during league play as she was named to the All-LSC 3rd Team for her efforts on the diamond while excelling in the classroom, being named a member of the LSC Commissioner’s Honor Roll.

Previous School:
Bayer joined the Lady Buffs in the fall of 2014 following one season at nearby Lubbock Christian University (Texas) where she pitched for the Lady Chaps under head coach Daren Hays. Bayer went 4-0 in the circle with a 2.58 ERA in 21.2 innings of work while striking out 17 batters and allowing a .129 opponent batting average. The Lady Chaps finished the 2013 season with an overall record of 61-10 as they advanced to the NAIA National Championship Tournament where they finished third. She picked up Sooner Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week honors after throwing a no-hitter against Mount Mary on March 12th during the Tucson Invitational.
