Senior (2014-15) Cross Country: Johnson had an excellent senior season with the Lady Buffs where she won two races, earned five top-five finishes in her first five races and was named LSC Runner of the Week five times during the season, earning the honors for each race she competed in. Johnson started the year with a school record 5K time of 18:35.4 in the Joe I. Vigil Open at Adams State. She then grabbed a second-place finish at the Texas Tech Open (5K) followed by two first-place showings in the Wagon Wheel Dual (6K) and WTAMU Buffalo Stampede (6K). At the LSC Championship (6K), Johnson earned LSC All-Conference honors with a second-place finish. She then qualified for nationals with a 10th place finish at the NCAA South Central Regional (6K) meet. She would go on to finish 50th in the country at the NCAA National Championship (6K).
Track & Field: Broke LSC and school record in the indoor 5000m (17:23.96)
Provisional qualifier in the indoor 5000m and outdoor 3000m steeple chase

Finished second in the DMR, fourth in the 5000m, & fifth in the 3000m at the LSC Indoor Championship

Junior 2013-14 Cross Country: Johnson placed 27th overall at the Texas Tech Red Raider Open (5K) and 34th at the WTAMU Buffalo Stampede (6K) to begin her career as a Lady Buff. She then finished in 26th place at the 25th annual Chili Pepper Cross Country Festival (5K) with a time of 19:12.4. Johnson followed up with a 10th place performance at the Wagonwheel Dual (6K) running at 24:01.05. She was named LSC All-Conference with her 15th place finish at the LSC Championship (6K) with a time of 23:33.40. Johnson then set a new PR as she placed 55th at the NCAA South Central Regional Championships (6K) with a time of 23:01. She would go on to finish with a time of 23:03.10 at the NCAA National Championships (6K).
Track & Field: Johnson finished fifth and scored for the Lady Buffs in the 3000m steeple chase at the LSC Outdoor Championship. Her 2014 PRs include 5:39.00 (mile), 10:51.60 (3000m), 19:28.56 (5000m) and 11:23.08 (3000mS). Johnson was named to the LSC Fall Commissioner's Honor Roll.
Sophomore 2012-13 (South Plains JC) Cross Country: Johnson ran a 19:51 at the SPC Inv. Meet for a PR for the season.
Track: At the UTEP Inv. Michaela ran the 3000m in 11:08. In the 10K, Michaela placed second, running a 41:16.90. In the 1500M, she ran a 5:00.70. She also ran a 18:34 for 5K.
Freshman 2011-12 (South Plains JC) Cross Country: Johnson ran an 18:49 at the SPC Inv. Meet where she placed
third. In the Half-Marathon Championship in Marietta, Georgia, Michaela placed ninth, racing a 1:31:39.43.
Track: At the UTEP Inv. Meet, Michaela ran the 5K ran a 19:38 placing.
High School: Michaela graduated from Carlsbad High School in Carlsbad, MN. She ran a personal best o 19:07 in the 3 mile. She also ran 11:43 for 2 miles as well as a 5:23 for the mile. Michaela had several State Meet showings through her career.
Personal: Michaela is the daughter of Michael and Angela Johnson. Michaela is a Nursing major.
