2013 Season Stats

Career: 
Has played in 34 games with 71 receptions for 907 yards and eight touchdowns.  Has 27 kick returns for 652 yards and 34 punt returns for 349 yards.  Also has four rushes for 13 yards.  Has 1,921 all-purpose yards for his career.

2013:  Played in all 14 games and had 17 catches for 224 yards and three touchdowns.  Averaged 13.2 yards per catch and 16.0 yards per game.  Led the team with 19 punt returns for 232 yards.  Had a season-best three catches for 63 yards and a touchdown at McMurry.  Opened the season with a season-best four punt returns for 31 yards.  Also had three punt returns for 56 yards at McMurry.  Tallied 456 all-purpose yards for the season.  Had a season-long punt return of 50 yards against Chadron State.

2012: Did not play.

2011: Had 36 receptions for 550 yards and four touchdowns as he played in nine games. Was third on the team in yards and touchdown recpetions.

2010: Played in one game in 2010 and had two kick returns for 30 yards.

2009: Whether he carried, caught or returned the football, Watson was a dynamic offensive performer in 2009 despite seeing action in only nine contests (an ankle injury forced him to miss three games).  For the season, he averaged 24.9 yards per kick return (fourth among LSC leaders), gaining 622 yards on 25 returns and averaged 7.8 yards per punt return (seventh among LSC leaders), gaining 117 yards on 15 returns and accounted for 885 all-purpose yards.  He generated 152 all-purpose yards against Central Oklahoma, as he gained 119 yards on kickoffs, added another 22 yards via punt return to go with eight rushing yards.  At Central Washington, he returned five kicks for 114 yards and he averaged 24.3 yards per kick return against Nebraska-Omaha, while setting up WT’s final touchdown with a 43 yard return.  At #23-Midwestern State, he averaged 18.6 yards on three returns (56 yards total).  He enjoyed a prolific outing at Southwestern Oklahoma State, where the Lubbock, Texas, native averaged 29.6 yards per return, gaining 89 yards on three kick returns (with a long of 49 yards). 

2008: Redshirt season.

Estacado High School: Watson was an all-Lubbock, all-South Plains and all-District 4-4A performer as a linebacker at Lubbock (Texas) Estacado HS.  A two-sport performer, Watson was also a regional and state qualifier in track & field.  Strong in the classroom, he was also an Honor Roll student.

Personal: Born May 1, 1990...Parents are Helen Washington and Ronald Watson...Has three siblings...Majoring in sports and exercise science at WT.
